Following is a video showing the current status of the Garmin G5 gauges being developed for X-Plane. The ATT and HSI from the XPL B58 in the middle are used for comparison.
The G5 gauges on the FIPs (Flight Instrument Panels) look pretty nice as they closely resemble the real one in terms of physical dimensions.
Actually, the image quality of the G5 gauges on the FIPs is much better than what is shown in the video.
So far, I am quite happy with the progress even though there are still many issues to debug and features to add. After that, optimizations for codes and graphics will be carried out to make them perform better.
Lastly, despite my initial intention to firstly work on the Dual-Cue PFD only, the Single-Cue version has also been developed at the same time. They together should better cope with the needs and preferences of all users.
