181: My Ultimate Cockpit Views Update

With the installation of 7 FIPs, my ultimate cockpit views defined and used since May 2011 have been changed as follows:

1. Landing/Takeoff — showing the hood from the pilot seat on the left
2. Cruising — showing outside scenery only
3. Normal Cockpit — used only when FIPs are turned off

The Landing/Takeoff view adds realism and relative tilting angles and positions for aircraft control while the Curising view maximizes display and scenery enjoyment.

Followings are the Camera Definitions for my Centurion T210.   Note the Guid number used for these three views are different.

  1. Tom, I noticed in the screen shot above that the button lights on the HSI have turned off. I have this problem on my FIPs where the button lights randomly turn off. Do you know what causes this? I have 9 FIPs plugged into 3 internal USB cards and some plugged into external powered hubs and they all fail at one time or another. On long flights, eventually most or all will turn off. Thoughts?

    1. Good catch, Ron. It happens occasionally to that particular gauge. There are two issues causing that issue I believe. One is the toggling of modules or switching on and off of FSX. No solution to software conflict in this manner. Need to unplug and re-plugin again.
Second is the USB port quality. Try using different port to see if that helps.

  2. Thank you Tom. Was thinking along the same line but instead of using a screen using my beamer. Was again very enjoyable read while following the links in the posts. No need to reinvent ‘the wheel’ is there !?
