846: My Stream Deck XL Profiles

Last June in my Post 774, when I talked about the Elgato Stream Deck XL in my DIY cockpit,  I mentioned that I would share my profiles when they are properly-tuned.  Pardon me, I completely forgot about it until a friend, Nick, who recently asked me for a copy of it. MyStreamDeckXLS
So, here is what this Post is all about and the download link is included for those who are interested to play mine.

In essence, there are 5 Panels (plus 2 Sub-panels) in my Stream Deck structural concept that are created per my hardware, software, cockpit peripherals and MSFS settings.  Also, graphics I prefer are simple and easy to read without fancy icons.

The 5 Main Panels are:

1)
The INFO PANEL
, which displays the essential information of the aircraft and allow associated operations via buttons on the device.
01_MSFS_INFO_C172_resize
2)
The SWITCH PANEL
, which displays the statuses of Switches on the aircraft and allow operations via the buttons.
02_MSFS_INFO_SWITCH_resize
3)
The INSTRUMENT PANEL
, which allows quickly view switching among different Instruments and cockpit positions.
03_MSFS_INFO-INSTR_resize
4)
The PLANE VIEW PANEL
, which allows quick switching among different Aircraft External Views; and
04_MSFS_VIEW_resize
activates the Drone Views Sub-panel.05_MSFS_DRONE_VIEW_resize
5)
The ATC PANEL
, which not only provides a numeric keypad for ATC Operations but also two named ACT Hotkey Sets for Departure and Arrival scenarios.

All 5 Panels, including the 2 Sub-panels, are interwined in design concept so that each of them can be quickly switched to any other panel via affiliated PANEL buttons in fixed locations.  As such, I can efficiently grasp most of the key information of the aircraft easily, and quickly take corresponding actions via Stream Deck accordingly.

Primarily, my Stream Deck configurations are created for my favorite C172.  However, the whole profile or individual panels can still work properly in general on other aircraft.

If you have Stream Deck XL in your cockpit setup and are interested to try my profiles, download link is provided below:

IMPORTANT:
REMEMBER TO BACKUP YOUR STREAM DECK PROFILES FIRST

  • Also, you will need the Flight Tracker Plug-in from Elgato to play my Profiles;
  • And you may find a few buttons and/or features from my Profile not working on your system.  If this happens, it is very likely that they are Hot Keys and/or Features specifically created ONLY for my own setup.

After unzipping the download, you can

  1. Simply double-clicking the backup file to proceed installation; or
  2. Choose the “Restore from backup…” option in Stream Deck to install the profiles.

After the Profiles are loaded, you are good to go.

Just in rare cases, you may need to reload the Stream Deck App, or even reboot your computer after installation in order to put the new profiles to work.

Happy Flying !
