    1. Hi Stuart, they were very old and I am not sure if I still have them. Are you sure you want it? If so, I’ll check my database if they are still there.

  5. Hello Tom, thanks for the quick helpful responses. Now, I have a new question for you. Do you recommend the USB expansion bar that I saw someplace in your posts. I have all this new Saitek stuff and have totally ran out of USB ports. I need a lot of them. I suppose each of the Instrument Panels will require a dedicated USB port, that will be another 6 that I will need.

    1. The USB bar I am using isn’t superb but good enough to do its job. I got three in my system. Each costs about USD10. There are many different types and brands of USB bar you can find today but do look for one with a power supply. To some Saitek gears, a power-driven USB is manditory and FIP is one them.

  6. Tom, I would like to have your code for the Saitek Instruments. I have six on the way to me now. I’m stuck with trying to get FSX to recognize dual Saitek quadrants. It see both but I can only use one or the otther. First one I touch is active. I do not have the pay version of FSUIPC.

    1. Hi Ray, my gauge set has been sent to you by email. Please check your mailbox.
I am using two quadrants as well, both are connected to the Saitek Yoke. FSX’s control setting recognizes them easily. To use the quadrant, no FSUIPC is requred.

      1. Further to using two quadrants in FSX. Does the drop down box in FSX controls show two quadrant or just one or none? I am trying to get two throttles, two props, two mixtures for twin engine operation. I haven’t found the method yet.

  7. Tom, I’m also interested in finding out a way to make my FSX software ‘remember” where I landed last when shutting down and then contenue my next flight from that point when I restart the program. Any ideas on how to do that?

    1. Hi Bill, the gauge set has been sent to your mailbox. Please check your mailbox. Regarding your question about remembering where you land and continue at that point the next time, you could do so by saving your flight via the semicolon key. You can then load the flight you save and start from that point where you left.

      1. Tom,

Received your Saitek FIP gauges today. Thank you very much for sending them. I am setting up a whole new Flight Sim instrument panel this weekend and want to install them on my four FIP set up.
        All the best,

      2. You’re welcome. Do note that new FIPs are brigher than the old ones. Better turn off their power to prevent unnecessary display burn-in.

  11. Dear Tom,

could you send me the gauges, too? Thanks in advance. Perhaps you can talk Saitek into paying you some 1000 $ for delivering them as default :-) Kind regards, Michael

    1. Hi Michael,
The gauage set is being sent to you by email. Check you mailbox and it should be there.
What a good idea to sell it to Saitek! Truly, I don’t mind giving it to them as part of their default gauges.
Visited your site and found that you do English-German scientific/technical translations. More than a decade ago, I was an editor for some electronics & computers magazines and translations (English-Chinese) were also part of my job. Nice to “meet” someone here with similar background.
Also, many of your DVDs mentioned are my favorites too.

  13. Hi Tom, Can you send me the generic Speedometer gauge? What’s chances you will do a twin engine RPM Gauge any time soon?

I have recently upgraded to 12 FIP’s now; I believe my cockpit is complete and your gauges make the system look great.

    Thanks

    1. Hi Rick,
I saw the 12 FIP pic you sent me earlier. Amazing!
Gauages for twin engines — probably sometime next year. Not on my priority list so far.
Which generic speedometer are you referring to? If you meant the one shown on my post with speed limit up to 360, it was already included in the package I sent you before. It is called Airspeed_N.xml. Just replacing the Airspeed_R.xml (for Cessna 180 speed limit) with this one will do.

      1. I am working on my flying zone approach again. I hope to come up with a zone switching interface which will allow me to switch from one zone to another more effectively. Also, its objective is to eliminate the need of FTXCentral completely as well even when switching between its Australia and NA areas. There are many possibilities to customize scenery as well.

Can you also send me a copy of the files? How hard is it to build one? I would love to be able to do the fuel tanks, vac guage, etc….as well.

        I really appreciate all this!

      2. Hi Sean,
The gauge set is on its way to way. Check your mailbox in 15 mins.
It takes some technical knowledge and works to do the gauge and Saitek’s FIP forum is a good place to gather relevant information.

  15. Hi!

I have tried the link for the RPM gauge you posted for the Saitek forum, but unfortunately they have locked down the forum for new registrations. I would also love to try out your new gauge replacement images! Would you be able to email the RPM gauge as well as your fantastic images? Thanks so much in advance. Love your website!!!

  20. Love your blog!
I would gladly try your fip gauges.
    A question:
How do you make the gauges show up in the right places.
I’ve got 6 FIP:s and I would lite the different gauges to show up at the same place when I start my Cessna 172 or whatever.

      1. Hi Tom, I would be very keen to try your gauges. I’m a bit nervous about installation though. I downloaded some additional gauge files from the Saitek website, but don’t seem to have done the cutting and pasting into the correct folders – nothing new shows up. Any more detailed info on the installation process would be appreciated. Thanks
